Join me this August 6-7 in Franklin, Indiana at Marc Adams School of Woodworking! This class is for anyone who wants to learn the basics of creating their own fine art fantasy-inspired figurine and custom display stand. Students will learn the basics of needle-felting, clay sculpting, and how to merge the two along with natural forest-found elements to create a mythic and meaningful creature all their own. The class will take students through the journey of designing an original creature starting with a concept sketch, into the construction of a simple wire armature. The students will learn time-tested and easily accessible methods of sculpting to make their characters simple heads, hands, and feet along with pastel blushing of each element. Everyone involved will have the freedom to make their creatures as simple or complex as they wish depending on their skill levels. Templates and clear guidance will be provided for those seeking specific direction, as well as a fun atmosphere of explorative adventure for those students wanting to explore their own original ideas. This class will be filled with life, laughter, and lots of inspiration as we all learn together!
